artiststatement

I work with installations and photography. More specifically I use miniaturization as a way to explore feelings of alienation and estrangement whilst also bringing to attention the many absurdities of life. The figures in my work stand isolated and vulnerable in white boxes, dwarfed by the empty space around them. As humans ourselves we empathize with them as we find ourselves in a similar situation. Currently my work explores the absurdities of art itself along with the many different forms it comes in. My work occasionally and self-consciously draws attention to itself as a piece of art in order to highlight the absurdities surrounding my own practice as well as others.
